WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY SCENTS SAN DIEGO PURCHASE?
Each Scent San Diego purchase includes your selected neighborhood candle in an 8 oz reusable tin along with a short handout with a description of the neighborhood, historical fun fact, and inspiration for the scent.

Currently, Scents San Diego only ships domestically in the United States of America. If you require international shipping, please contact me.
HOW DO "PICK UP" ORDERS WORK?
If you are local to or are willing to drive to the central San Diego area, please submit your name, email, and order number in the Contact section or on social media to coordinate pick up at Normal Heights Starbucks on Adams Ave. and Felton.
HOW DO YOU DEVELOP A NEIGHBORHOOD SCENT?
First I start with a deep dive online search of the neighborhood, then I look to interview several community leaders, small businesses, and residents to gain a better understanding of what makes the area unique. It takes a village to develop a Neighborhood Scent!
HOW CAN I REPURPOSE MY CANDLE TIN?
When your candle has about 1/4" to 1/2" of wax left, it's useful life has ended and it's time to repurpose that jar or tin. Just use a spoon to scoop out the remaining wax & wick, rinse with warm water and use an alcohol-soaked cotton ball or cotton pad to clean out any leftover waxy residue. You can use your tin for all kinds of other things! All tins are lead-free, food safe and can be washed in the dishwasher.
WHAT ARE SCENTS SAN DIEGO CANDLES MADE OF?
I make the candles myself pouring the candles by hand with all-natural soy wax in San Diego, CA. Soy wax is made from environmentally friendly, renewable resources; whereas classic paraffin wax is made from petroleum and is non-renewable. Not only are there “green” advantages to choosing soy wax, but soy wax also burns slower than paraffin wax, meaning you get a candle that lasts longer.
HOW DO I RETURN MY CANDLE?
It is our mission to make candles that are as unique and wonderful as our San Diego neighborhoods. If there is something about our products that aren't meeting your standards, please contact us. We truly want to hear from you so we can can make it better. We offer free refunds within 30 days of when your order was shipped.
HOW DO YOU SAFELY BURN A SCENTS SAN DIEGO CANDLE?
To get the best results and longest life from your candles, I recommend the following: before each burn, trim your wick to ¼”. Remove any clippings and discard in the trash; never leave wick trimmings or debris in the candle when burning. Never attempt to trim a burning candle. Ensure the candle is cool before trimming. On the first burn, allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the tin. This usually takes about 2-3 hours. Then extinguish your candle for at least 1 hour before burning again. This will help to prevent tunneling and give your candle a nice even burn.
Please also follow the safety instructions on the bottom of your candle.
WHAT DO I DO IF MY ROOM SPRAY LIQUID SEPARATES?
Don't worry! This is completely normal due to the mixture of fragrance oil and other liquids. Just give the bottle a shake and it will be back to normal. I actually recommend that you shake your room spray before use to get the best result!

Scents San Diego used to be sold in several retail locations and in local makers markets, but currently we are only selling online.
